Trading in carbon units officially begins in Russia: Market participants are now able to register climate projects, release carbon units into circulation and use them to conduct transactions. In a decree enacted by the Government of the Russian Federation on 1st March 2022, Kontur JSC was appointed to administer the carbon units registry, supported by Gazprombank and the Moscow Stock Exchange.
